The short answer, between 2 days and 2 weeks. For a more detailed answer read on.

Xanax, also known as Alprazolam, is a benzodiazepine used to treat anxiety, convulsions and depression. It is also used as a muscle relaxant.

How long Xanax stays in your system depends on your dosage, weight, age and your body’s ability to metabolize the drug. Generally, it remains detectable in your body for 2 days to 2 weeks after ingestion. It will be detected in a drug test as long as a week after consumption. If you are elderly, the clearance time will be longer. Your liver is primarily responsible for metabolizing Xanax, so if you have any impaired liver function, you probably shouldn’t be taking this drug without the advice of a physician, but nonetheless, your degree of liver functioning will affect how long this drug stays in your system.

This drug’s clearance time can be delayed when taken with other medications such as some anti fungals, antibiotics, and SSRI antidepressants. Xanax can also have a synergistic effect, meaning the two (or more) drugs taken together will increase or prolong each others’ effect; when taken with alcohol, imipramine and desipramine.

When taken by pregnant women, Xanax can affect the developing fetus. Babies can develop withdrawal symptoms after birth if exposed to Xanax prenatally. It is also excreted in breastmilk and can cause lethargy and delayed growth in breastfeeding infants.

Starting from the bottom; bankruptcy in the U.S. isn’t an automatic disqualification from building up to a good credit rating, but it will take some work and organization.

First, make sure that your debts are correctly listed as discharged. Some companies will not have changed your records in their system resulting in your file showing as outstanding and overdue, despite filing for bankruptcy and having your case closed. One incorrect record can continue to tarnish your credit without your knowledge.

Second, you need to build your credit up slowly in increments that you can manage. You can apply for a secure credit card by leaving a deposit at the bank for between $200 and $500. You then make small purchases and pay the bills off on time. Once you have done this for a while, you can apply for an unsecured credit card with a slightly higher balance, making sure to continue making your payments on time. This type of credit is known as revolving credit and includes home equity lines of credit.

Third, you need to build up your installment credit. This type of credit includes car loans, mortgages and student loans. Applying for a mortgage within a year of filing for bankruptcy isn’t out of the question, provided that you have a reasonable downpayment and are taking on a mortgage that you can reasonably afford. Making payments on time – sometimes having more than one payment per month can be very useful in paying off the balance quicker – will increase your credit rating. Auto loans paid on a timely basis can also improve your credit, but again, be careful not to bite off more than you can chew. If you have never had credit and are starting from scratch, a student loan paid in a timely manner can build up your credit score.

You can reasonably expect to have a decent credit rating in 1-2 years if you make sure to pay all of your loans on time. This article on MSN Money is particularly helpful.

There are a number of dependent factors that will determine how long it would take. First, the weather conditions; obviously if you are in a desert, water is evaporating away from your body quickly, so the time would be less; not to mention the sunstroke! If you are eating, food provides you with some water, but probably takes more water to digest than it provides. After 3-4 days without water, if you are not already dead, if you manage to find some water, the damage done to your internal organs may be permanent.

All of the figures that I have read say 10 to 20 days without food. Obviously, this depends upon your weight to begin with and your state of health before the eating stopped. An overweight adult will last longer because they have more reserves to work from than a thin person. Ghandi went 21 days without food and survived. He didn’t have very much body fat to work with. Terry Schiavo made it almost 2 weeks. One source that I read said that as long as a person has water, they can survive up to 8 weeks without food. I am skeptical.

Latex paints dries to touch in about one hour. This isn’t the same as it being cured. Latex paint can be painted with a second coat after about 6 hours. It takes about 30 days for the paint to fully cure; meaning that you can wash spots off your wall without damaging your paint finish. Paint cures by reacting with oxygen in the air to form a skin over deeper, still wet layers. Eventually, oxygen reaches the deeper layers as well, drying them; thus the 30 day cure time.

Oil paints take longer to dry, to recoat and to cure. The first coat will take 12 to 24 hours to dry enough to apply a second coat. Oil paint also cures by binding with oxygen. I have read if you thin your oil paint, you can paint 2 thin layers instead of 1 or 2 thick layers. The thinned paint dries in less time.

A blastocyst is the term for a fertilized egg whose cells are rapidly dividing. Normally, sperm must reach an egg within 24 hours of ovulation because the egg won’t survive in the fallopian tubes much longer. After the egg is fertilized, it is termed a blastocyst. This blastocyst continues to rapidly divide on its way to the uterus. Once there, the blastocyst digs away a small spot in the uterus in which to attach itself. This process sometimes involves a bit of bleeding called implantation spotting. It is only when the blastocyst is firmly attached to the wall of the uterus that it begins to secrete the hormone HCG; human chorionic gonadotropin hormone. This hormone prevents the breakdown of the corpus luteum in the ovary, that stimulates progesterone to be released. Progesterone stimulates blood vessels to grow on the wall of the uterus. When taking a home pregnancy test, this is the hormone that is being tested for.

There is a small percentage of people who will not test positive until the virus has been in their body for 6 months, so to be absolutley sure that you are HIV free, take the test at 6 months after exposure, but feel free to take the test before that; say, at 12 weeks because this fits the time frame for most people to have the virus show up in their blood. Let’s put it this way, if it were me, I would get tested after 12 weeks and again at the 6 month mark.

If you live in the United States, there is a National HIV and STD Testing Resource Center that will direct you, based on your postal code to the nearest testing center. If you chose the finger prick method to test for HIV, it is called the RAPD test and it will give you the results within 5 to 60 minutes of the procedure. Standard testing takes up to 2 weeks for results to come back. There are tests that you can buy online and in drug stores to do yourself, but only one is approved by the FDA and is called the Home Access HIV-1 Testing System. This test involves pricking your finger, squeezing blood onto a prepared card, then mailing the card into a laboratory for testing. Counseling resources are available to you before, during and after the procedure.

If you live in Britain, you can contact the British Association For Sexual Health and HIV. Type in your postal code, and the website will show testing centers near you.

If you live in Canada, you can contact the Public Health Agency of Canada for a 1-800 number specific to your province or territory.

In South Africa, The Aids Foundation of South Africa can direct you contacts who can help you find test locations.

When working from bare ground, the advice I have read says that when these shoots are about 2 to 3 centimeters long, add another layer of grass seed and in approximately one month, you should start seeing some lush grass grow. Be sure to keep the area moist while new grass is growing in.

When planting a new area from seed, sprinkle the seed into newly tilled soil, then rake over the seeds so that they are covered with about 1-2 centimeters of dirt. Keep them well watered, but don’t overwater them, as you will drown the new shoots. Most grass varieties should be planted in the spring or fall. Common hearty varieties include Fescue, Bermuda and St. Augustine. There are very useful instructions in an article called The Grass is Always Greener.

If you have plucked them a lot, eventually, the hair follicle will be too damaged to grow hair anymore. I have been waxing mine for years, and the follicles still have not died, so the time of death varies from person to person. I have read about people whose follicles stopped growing hair after a few years. I wish!

There is a product on the market called Talika Lipocils that are made to assist in the growth of eyelashes and eyebrows. I have about people that have had positive experiences with this product. It contains soy lecithin, witch hazel and Allanton. The soy lecithin is the “active ingredient” that makes your lashed grow a little longer after 28 days. Soy lecithin is a phospholipid found in soy beans and is used in many different foods as an emulsifier to keep ingredients from separating.

Bottom line, if at a party, having imbibed with overzealous, hair removalphile friends, a one time transgression is unlikely to result in permanent eyebrow baldness.

A number of factors determine whether you will be a slow healer or fast healer; if a scab does or doesn’t form, if it is exposed to sunlight or tanning beds, if you scratch or abrade the tattoo in any way and your own personal body chemistry. In general, many people will over moisturize their tattoo, turning any scab into a pulpy mess. Scabs will retain dye and deposit the dye back into the skin over time. Ideally, you want a thin scab that falls off like a bad sunburn by trying to maintain a balance between too thin a layer of scab and too thick a layer of scab. Often, your tattoo artist will supply you with an ointment to apply twice a day for the first few days after the tattoo is finished. After this period has passed and there are no adverse complications, regular, unscented, uncolored moisturizer will do the trick applied in a thin layer twice daily. Make sure the moisturizer doesn’t have any sparkles.

You want to avoid covering up your tattoo too much so that it can heal, but you also want to avoid direct sunlight which can cause the ink to fade. Sharp Tattoos.com provides an excellent detailed set of instructions for post care of a tattoo.
